OK. So Friday was Jem's birthday yall. I turned 23. Awesome. Everything went very well. Kudos to my friends (Peanut, G, Esther Baxter, Claudia, Meems, Felix, Vaunia, and Trisha) for planning it all out. First, we went to see SAW VI (it was way better than the last). Then, we went Rudi's (a lounge on Mass Ave). They had a cool little atmosphere. This R&B artist by the name of Lyric had a set and it was cool. He was selling his CDs (compliments of Discmakers). Real grassroots shit. Then my homegirl, Susan came through to celebrate with us. It was nice. Bought her a drink and mingled a bit. Then Lyric's set was over and the DJ for the night came out and started playing this wack R&B mix but an hour or so later, when folks were nice, DJ brought out the dancehall mix and we "was gettin it in!!!" Peanut was so twisted. G was done. Everybody was good. Then a wack ass chick fight broke out between two drunk girls. I was too busy breaking girls to even care. Then, come let out, we all went to Vaunia's place where everyone suddenly became very hungry. Then we hopped in the whip and jetted to this 24 hour diner. The wait was crazy for our food. The waitress was a bitch (didn't wanna tip her). You know what really grinds my gears? That 18% GRATUITY. WTF is that? You're telling me that if you go out with a group you HAVE to pay 18% regardless of how bad the treatment is? BULLSHIT. Well, that's precisely the reason why I did not order anything. LOL. Finally, we got the grub. We ate (minus me), then we left. Buzz wore off and I knocked out at home. Good shit GANG. Good shit. I love my friends. Best birthday ever. You know, that's the thing that makes everything worth it. When people can take the time out of their busy schedules to think about you and spend time with you doing whatever. It means a whole lot. The thought really outweighs everything else. It just so happens we had FUN. Thanks guys.
